If you want to be in the heart of the action, this is the role for you!
This position will join our Committee to help supervise our Rest Stop volunteers during the event. If you have strong leadership and customer service skills, we look forward to speaking with you about this role.
Duties Include:
* Make sure rest stops are set up with the necessities, route maps, basic first aid kit
* Plan for/ and acquire rest stop set up supplies
* Develop and create a plan for rest stop set up
* Ensure volunteers are cheerleading for cyclists as they come through and communicate any relevant information
* Confirm all supplies required are there
* Confirm volunteers are cleaning and packing up when finished
Skills, Attitudes and Knowledge Required:
* Volunteer recruitment and coordination experience is an asset (specific to volunteer coordinator)
* Experience in the respective position is valued
* Strong leadership, communication, organizational and customer service skills
* Basic computer proficiency
* Self-motivated/directed and able to fulfill duties on time
* Must be comfortable making decisions and problem solving with limited supervision
Time Commitment:
* 1.5hr meetings monthly prior to event
* Onsite for the event weekend, providing leadership to event day volunteers and oversight for specific area of work
* Meetings and work related to your role encompasses approximately 5-10 hours/month depending on the role and size of the event. Hours will increase as the event approaches.
